Geneva swept all four matches to win the Geneva County Invitational Saturday.

The Panthers beat New Brockton 25-19, 25-18, Daleville 25-8, 25-9 and Geneva County 25-19, 25-14 before winning the title with 25-15, 25-23 over Wicksburg.

For the tournament, Anslee Finch had 34 kills, seven aces, four blocks and 14 digs, Chloe Nance had 13 kills, eight aces, 34 assists, 15 digs and three blocks and Jaylee Stough had nine aces, six kills and 10 digs. All three made the all-tournament team.

Peyton Walker had 10 kills, 24 assists and nine digs, Megan Smith had eight aces, six kills and 21 digs and Daydee Holt had 11 aces and two digs.

On Thursday, Geneva beat Dothan 25-15, 26-28, 23-25, 25-18, 15-7. Finch had five aces, 24 kills, 23 digs and three blocks, Nance four aces, seven kills, 22 assists and nine digs and Stough three kills and nine digs. Walker had three aces, nine kills, 14 assists and nine digs and Smith four kills and 27 digs.

Ariton takes CHHS title: Ariton won the Charles Henderson Trojans Classic Saturday, beating rival G.W. Long in the championship, 25-16, 25-19.

The Purple Cats, who remained unbeaten at 9-0, beat Charles Henderson 25-15, 25-21 and Elmore County 25-19, 25-16 in pool play then beat Elmore County in the semifinals 25-17, 25-18 to reach the finals.

On the day, Emiley Stevens had 71 assists and Lakyn Pratt 39 kills. Emma Grantham and Hannah Wilson both had 17 kills with Wilson also earning 11 blocks. Sarah Snyder had 16 kills and eight digs and Jordan Yeomans had 15 digs.

G.W. Long goes 3-1: G.W. Long won three matches before falling in the finals of the Charles Henderson Trojans Classic to Ariton.

Long, now 8-2 on the season, defeated Rehobeth 25-15, 25-15 and Dale County 25-8, 25-6 in pool play then beat Charles Henderson 25-17, 25-19 in the semifinals.

For the day, Mary Beth Long had 41 kills, five aces and 14 blocks, Emma Claire Long had 23 kills, five aces and three blocks and Breana Herring had eight aces, 11 kills and two blocks. Cora Curtis had five aces, 10 kills and two blocks and Makenna Long had 95 assists and four aces.

Rehobeth goes 1-2 at CHHS tourney: Rehobeth went 1-2 at the Charles Henderson Trojans Classic, losing to G.W. Long 25-16, 25-15, beating Dale County 25-20, 25-11 and losing in the semifinals to Charles Henderson 26-24, 25-19.

For the tournament, Blake Gibson had 23 kills, 16 blocks and 30 digs and Jaci Parker nine kills and seven digs. Claire Watson had 36 assists, two aces and four digs, Makayla Peters four aces and 28 digs and Samantha Stricker 10 kills, three aces and 17 digs. Caitlin Jackson had 17 digs, Jammoria McBryde six kills, 14 digs and two aces and Jenna Hixson three kills, two aces and two blocks.

Wicksburg falls in finals: Wicksburg won three matches at the Geneva County Invitational before losing to Geneva in the championship

Wicksburg beat Geneva County 25-19, 25-22 and Pike County 25-14, 25-20 in pool play before beating New Brockton 25-22, 25-22 in the semifinals.

Providence Christian wins tournament

Providence Christian won its own tournament, beating Pike Road in the finals, 25-22, 20-25, 16-14.

The Eagles beat Ashford 25-9, 25-20, Charles Henderson 25-14, 25-10 and Goshen 25-13, 25-17 prior to the championship.

For the tournament, Lindsay Champion had five aces, 34 assists and two kills, Anna Grace O’Bryan had nine aces, 10 kills, two assists and two digs and Mary Black 17 kills, three aces, three digs and two blocks to lead PCS.

Also, Vivian Crump had five aces, six kills and two assists, Megan Stewart eight kills and five blocks and Mary Hannah Driggers four aces and 19 digs.

Goshen reaches semifinals: Goshen reached the semifinals of the Providence tournament, finishing the event with a 2-2 record.

Goshen lost to Pike Road 25-21, 25-22 then defeated Houston Academy 25-13, 16-25, 16-14 and Rehobeth 25-15, 25-22 before losing in the semifinals to Providence 25-13, 25-17.

For the tournament, Ella Baker had 10 aces, nine kills and 14 digs, Morgan Wilkes five aces, five kills, 38 assists and 10 digs and Kaleigh Burden seven kills, 10 blocks and two digs. Also, Ella Tatum had three aces, 10 kills, 23 digs and two blocks, Kaci Wilkes five aces and 28 digs and Zoey Warren three aces, two kills and eight digs.
