FLETCHER: HIS VIDEO CAME AFTER A SAINTS VIRTUAL TEAM MEETING THURSDAY AFTERNOON THAT ONE PLAYER TELLS ME WAS VERY EMOTIONAL AND MOSTLY ABOUT THE QUARTERBACK COMMENTS REGARDING KNEELING DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM AND MESSAGE THAT. FLETCHER: IN THAT TOPIC, THE RIGHT TO PEACEFULLY PROTEST WAS ADDRESSED IN A POWERFUL VIDEO ALSO SENT OUT ON SOCIAL MEDIA THURSDAY EVENING. MORE THAN A DOZEN PROMINENT NFL PLAYERS, INCLUDING SAINTS MICHAEL THOMAS AND MARSHON LATTIMORE, AS WELL AS FORMER LSU TIGERS ODELL BECKHAM, JUNIOR, JARVIS LANDRY, TERRI MATTHEW, AND JAMAL ADAMS, SAY THEY WANT THE NFL TO TAKE ACTION. >> THIS IS WHAT WE, THE PLAYERS WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOU STATE. WE, THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE, CONDEMN RACISM AND THE SYSTEMATIC OPPRESSION OF BLACK PEOPLE. >> WE, THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. >> SILENCING OUR PLAYERS FROM PEACEFULLY PROTESTING. THEY POSTED THEY HAD SPOKEN WITH DREW BREES, THEY ARE READY TO ACCEPT HIS APOLOGY AND MOVE FORWARD, DEMARIO DAVIS APPEARED ON A NUMBER OF NATIONAL SHOWS TODAY ON ESPN AND CNN, AND HE REITERATED THE SAME, SAYING HE SPOKE TO DREW BREES, HE’S GLAD HE APOLOGIZED, AND HE’S READY TO MOVE ON. I SPOKE WITH ONE PLAYER TONIGHT AND ASKED IF THIS WOULD LINGER INTO THE 2020 SEASON. HE WAS QUICK TO SAY NO.
